Learn Russian in Irkutsk - Accommodation options

Host families in Irkutsk

If you really want to get the most out of your time, staying with a host family in Irkutsk is definitely the right choice! You will be immersed in Russian society and learn Russian at a faster pace. It can also be challenging from time to time: don’t expect your hosts to speak foreign languages!

Our host families are as diverse as families are. When choosing hosts, we place a lot of value on personality, openness and hospitality. When booking, you are welcome to let us know your wishes regarding your host family. We will take these into account as much as possible. Please understand, however, that in almost all host families the kitchen and bathroom are shared with your hosts.

“My host family was very accommodating and helped me with my Russian whenever I needed. They were incredibly nice and made me feel like I was part of a family. I would love to live with them again, and I keep in touch with them through email.”
Anja Leutelt
Germany
“In my host family we had good conversations in Russian language. Anna and Andrej were very welcoming and helpful, took me to school the first day, explained all important things and even spent a Saturday with me to show me Zarskoje Selo. Anna’s Russian food was delicious! I really felt at home with them. Our school city tour on first day with Tonya was interesting and very good for a first impression.”
