Liden & Denz Student Greeting: Hello everyone!

Bсем привет!

My name is Matthias Thoeny and I am from Switzerland. I am the new Intern responsible for social media and for the next 4 weeks I study Russian at the Liden & Denz Language Center here in Moscow.

I started learning Russian three years ago at university and continued self-studying. Last summer I already spent 7 weeks at Liden & Denz in St. Petersburg and I really enjoyed my stay in this beautiful environment. I like to study foreign languages and although Russian is rather complicated I am convinced I can improve my skills in the next weeks. I hope that one day I can use my Russian skills in a business environment or for travelling and having conversations with native speakers.

Currently I am studying Business Administration at the University of St. Gallen. My mother tongue is German and I speak some Italian and French, official languages which are spoken in some areas of Switzerland.

In my free time I like to do sports – I hope to find a nice gym here in Moscow – and I also enjoy travelling. So far I have travelled just in Europe – Baltic states, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain and Croatia – and I could not decide which one of these beautiful countries I liked the most.

I am very excited about my stay in Moscow and I hope that I can give you some useful insights in the next 4 weeks about this famous and vivid city.
