Fresh Restaurant: Moscow Food Review

Fresh Restaurant: Moscow Food Review
11 October 2016

Another episode of my Russian vegetarian journey led me to Fresh Restaurant!

My friends and I were headed to Fresh on Bolshaya Dmitrovka, near the city center. There are two other locations in Moscow, and you can order some of their menu items online (Russian and English). Fresh is known for its lively, modern atmosphere and delicious food. Most of their menu items are not only vegetarian, but vegan as well. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee themed drinks, juices, smoothies and dessert. Visit when you are hungry! Not too hungry or your wallet may suffer. The majority of the menu is reasonably priced – as we say in Russian lessons, democraticny tseni (Демократичные цены) the prices are ‘democratic’. Perfect for an occasional treat.

For lunch I enjoyed a miso-veggie burger and maca root hot coco. Both were amazing! Maca is an “adaptogen”, otherwise known as an herbal superfood. It was a pleasant (incredible) surprise to find it here in Russia. The juice bar was full of healthy, cleansing and healing options for all who are curious. For those new to the health food craze, there is a full glossary at the back of the menu. I look forward to trying Fresh again, except this time I may order from the to-go menu. Do not attend this restaurant in a hurry.
