New intern in Riga – Lola

New intern in Riga – Lola
26 July 2023

Hello everyone! My name is Lola and I have just arrived in Riga from Spain, Barcelona.

I am a third-year global communication student at the University of Ramon Llull (Blanquerna), and I am excited to join the Liden & Denz team as a blogger and content creator intern for the next month. Having studied Translation in Barcelona and the United States, worked in international companies abroad, and for the Communication Department of the Government of Spain, I have developed a great experience in the field of international and social media communication.

Ever since I travelled to Russia some years ago, I have been passionate about its language and culture, which has led me to study its grammar and literature painstakingly. Hence, having the great opportunity to practice the language in such a delightful Russian-speaking environment as Riga offers, has made me immerse myself in such an incredible experience today.

So far, Riga has already exceeded all of my expectations and I can’t wait to explore its culture over the upcoming weeks. I am very thrilled to be here, finally. And as one of my favorite quotes says: Лучше поздно, чем никогда (better late than never)!

Lola López, a current student at Liden & Denz in Riga, wrote this article.

I too spent 2 weeks in Riga but elected to study the Russian Language with the Born school not far from the Liden and Denz location in March and had a good experience not knowing either school well. I plan to devote 2-3 weeks again studying the language this late November and early December and am considering trying the program at Liden and Denz. Prior to the war and the pandemic I travelled to Kyiv for Russian lessons every 6 months to a year over a six year period studying the language and if I cannot return there this year in Nov-Dec, if the war takes a favorable turn, will plan on seeing you there at that time! Мне за 70, я практикующий врач, работающий полный рабочий день, и мои родители русские, и я не могу не согласиться с вашей любимой поговоркой «лучше поздно, чем никогда».
