RibEye – A different kind of Restaurant!

Have you ever heard about the RibEye [Рибай] restaurant in Saint Petersburg? If your answer is “No” you need to check this different kind of restaurant out! As the name already applies, it is a steak house – but you have definitely never been to a steak house like this before. After three times that I have been there, I decided to tell you more about this special place.

Let’s start with some facts…

The RibEye is the first meat restaurant that belongs to the so-called “Ginza-Project”, a gastronomic chain of high-quality restaurants and it is located next to Kazan Cathedral. There are two floors and 350 seats for their hungry guests, a central hall, a gallery and a VIP-room for 20 persons. You can expect the highest quality of chilled meat from the best American farms, Spanish jamón ham, spicy Italian sausages, pasta and more.  The atmosphere is perfect for those who prefer both, big companies and coziness, because the interior design has been thought-out through to the smallest detail by the famous designer Andrej Tsigankov.

However, what’s the difference between this steak house and others?

The first time, I have been there with my parents who came to visit me in Saint Petersburg for a weekend in October. It was their last evening and I knew that they love steak, so I decided to reserve a table in a good steak house, but I have never been to RibEye before, just heard positive things about it. At first, nothing was unusual, except our waitress, who introduced herself and she was extremely friendly.

After we have ordered, the music suddenly became noticeably louder and the lights dammed up. All eyes went to the stage in the middle of the restaurant and then, there was OUR waitress who sang a ballad of Christina Aguilera masterfully. We could hardly believe our eyes and we initially thought that it was a joke and she is a professional singer. After this performance, she has worked on, as if nothing happened.

The longer the evening became, the more we noticed this fascinating concept behind RibEye. Approximately every 15 to 20 minutes a new performance by one of the staff members took place or even a whole choreography of the entire team. Every single one of them could sing or dance. We were just thrilled because we had never visited such a restaurant before. We have heard that RibEye is fully equipped with professional light and sound systems, so even stars with high technical standards love to perform there.

In addition, for those who would like to come to the restaurant with children do not have to worry about their kids’ entertainment because a spacious playroom with animators will keep the little guests entertained for hours.

This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants here in Saint Petersburg and the prices are fair in the view of the high quality of the dishes. With such an entertainment, you gladly give a bit more tip.
