Farewell to Keshia

Farewell to Keshia
28 September 2017

The time has come, once again, to say goodbye to a fellow intern. Keshia is leaving after three months at Liden & Denz St. Petersburg.

Keshia, tell me a little bit about yourself.

I’m Keshia and I’m from Switzerland. I live in Zurich, in the German speaking part of Switzerland. I study multilingual communication.

Why did you come to Russia and what inspired you to study Russian in the first place?

I love Tolstoy and Russia has always fascinated me. Of course, as a language and communication student knowing many different languages is always a plus. But my biggest inspiration to study Russian was simply because of my love for languages and travelling. I love to explore new cultures and everything that comes with it: food, people, literature, art and I believe that language and culture are strongly linked. When you learn another language and you’ll have insight into another culture.

Are you happy with your experience of learning Russian and working in St. Petersburg?

Yes, I am very happy because of so many different reasons. I had an amazing time studying at Liden & Denz! These three months went by so fast but I am so happy that I came here because the combination of Russian courses and internship is simply great and I have learned a lot. The teachers were really patient. I was interning as a social media content assistant and I loved it! I was involved in many different projects and every day was different. Also, working with Liza, our supervisor, was just amazing! She is so helpful, funny and kind! I really enjoyed living in St. Petersburg and will miss this city.

Do you have any recommendations for future interns?

Just come with an open mind! And also as my friend Lauriane already said, be patient! With everything, but mostly with yourself! Also, try to travel around a bit. The nature around St. Petersburg is really beautiful.

What is your favourite experience in St. Petersburg?

There are too many but I think the camping trip with my roommates to Lake Lagoda was my favorite. And of course, meeting all these amazing people who made my stay here so great.

Are you planning come back?

Yes! I hope very soon!
