Night of Museums in Moscow

On the night of May 17 to 18,  Moscow museums open their doors to visitors in the evening and at night! Organized as part of the International Museum Day, this day, celebrating around the world (since 1977!) is an opportunity to educate the public about the issues of museums in the development of society. On this occasion several of them have prepared a special program! Exhibitions, concerts, performances, master classes, historical reconstruction!

Here is a selection of where you can go tonight :

At Vinzavod (21:30-2.50) is organized street theater, circus and fire show. You can also attend master classes in circus arts, creating Costumes and fun musical instruments and work of creative workshops.

Currently at the Center for Contemporary Art« Гараж » (18:00-0:00):  interactive project «do it Moscow » – an exhibition with the participation of 120 artists, architects , composers, writers , choreographers and communities of 32 countries. For ” Night at the Museum ” there is a special program with performances.

In the cultural center “Зил” you can watch dance performances, but also visit the roof of the building that will present a performance art called “white light” (it is up to you to discover what is it!)

The Tretyakov Gallery (18:00-00:00) consecrates the “Night at the Museum” at two major exhibitions of the season: “Alexander Golovin Fantasies of the Silver Age.” And “Fedor Fedorov Artist of the Bolshoi Theatre”.  On the occasion, the gallery will create a theatrical atmosphere, with a series of performances but also a musical program with excerpts from operas will be broadcast. But the highlight of the evening will be a masked ball in honor of Alexander Golovin!

And especially for the occasion, the company “Mostaksi” offers you to travel for free on three routes: Gorky Park – Darwin Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery – Antique Car Museum and a circular one between Museum of Moscow-Glazunov Gallery – Tretyakov – Park “Muzeon . “!

And finally, the Gorky Park will present the ballet “Giselle” : a good opportunity if you never ever attend a ballet (especially outdoors)!
