Welcome To The Shopping World of St Petersburg
When we are visiting a new country, we mostly want to go shopping and discover new shops, which do not exist in our homeland. Buying a piece of clothing from a shop we have not known before, is a nice memory of our journey. So, what about the shopping world of St Petersburg?
Galeria is one of the biggest shopping malls in the centre of the city. It is near to the Moscow Railway Station and easy to reach through the Metro. The building of the shopping centre is huge and beautiful, also from the inside – it has very modern and clean hallways. Galleria offers a high range of shops and brands, also Russian designer brands. When visiting this shopping centre, you will not miss any shop. Galeria also features a big supermarket, food court, restaurants, movie theatre and a bowling area as well. There is also an entertainment area for children, situated on the top floor.
The largest department store of St Petersburg is called Bolshoy Gostiny Dvor and counts to the most common landmarks of the city. After the huge shopping mall GUM in Moscow, Bolshoy Gostiny Dvor is the second largest department store in Russia. The gorgeous building of the shopping mall is situated on Nevsky Prospekt and belongs to the UNESCO world cultural heritage. Bolshoy Gostiny Dvor offers about 200 shops, rather highly-priced and mostly designer brands.
One of the oldest department stores in St Petersburg is Dom Leningradskoi Torgovli (DLT, House of Leningrad Trade). It is seen as the city’s own world-class fashion centre. DLT offers a wide range of Russian and European stores and also luxury goods. The beautiful building is placed on the Bolshaya Konyushennaya Ulitsa.
No matter what kind of shop or brand you are searching for, St Petersburg offers definitely a high range of excellent shopping possibilities.
