Vecrīga and the Riga Restaurant Festival this August
Vecrīga is a very eventful city in the historical center of Riga, where one can go to see some of Riga’s famous old churches and cathedrals.
I recently came across this website, which I believe will be incredibly helpful to all of you wanting to visit Vecrīga. They have created a map of Vecrīga that allows you to do a virtual tour of the city and see all the attractions pinpointed on the map. Moreover, just 15 minutes walking from Vecrīga there will be the Riga Restaurant Festival, during which you will have the chance to try the food from 15 of the best restaurants in Riga. For the second year in a row, this festival will happen in Spīķeri Square in August 15th, where Latvian chefs will be excited to give you to try local produces and their own version of street food. And no festival is complete without music, so there will be bands performing throughout the whole event.
