Stunning Chess Event on Palace Square, St. Petersburg
24 June 2014

On the occasion of the international chess day, the Palace Square in Saint Petersburg will become a huge chessboard and the chess pieces will be real people!

The international chess day was stated in 1966 and since then celebrated on the 20th of July. This year Saint Petersburg will celebrate it in an extraordinary way! While chess grandmasters will reproduce a legendary game of 1924 on a regular board, their turns will be reflected on the Palace Square with people acting as chess pieces.
