I’m Thankful For Today – a great cafe in St. Petersburg!

This week I tried out a great new place in St. Petersburg which I would love to recommend to you! It’s called I’m Thankful For Today and is located just off the Griboyedov Canal (Канал Грибоедова), south of Nevsky Prospekt and not far from school.
I’m Thankful For Today is open from 10:00am until the early morning hours every day, so it is a great option either to hang out with a coffee or to have some dinner and drinks in the evening. They have a wonderful selection of coffee drinks, as well as a unique tea list and different flavors of hot chocolate.
The food was also fantastic with great presentation — I can recommend the falafel wrap, which is served wrapped in paper in a wire basket. I’m vegetarian, but I have to say that their “Big Burger” looked pretty delicious as well and seemed very popular! Plus, I don’t know about you, but I really appreciate a place that serves breakfast until 9:00pm.
And then there are the cocktails! You could spend several minutes poring over the cocktail list, many of which have unique ingredients and great names! I’d definitely recommend their house sangria, which is full of berries and much better than any other version I’ve tried here so far. The bartender was also very friendly and made a special cocktail when we asked for advice choosing a drink!
If you’re lucky enough to come here when it isn’t too crowded, you can grab a table at an open window facing out onto the canal for a gorgeous view. Otherwise, there’s a large shared table in the middle of the room as well as bar seating. You can see the food being prepared through a large window into the kitchen. The atmosphere inside is very comfortable, with pop/indie music and the large windows making for some great people watching.
The prices here are also quite reasonable. To get here, the closest metro is Sadovaya or you can take a nice walk along the canal to get there after school. The address is Gorokhovaya Ulitsa 24 (Гороховая ул., 24). Enjoy!!
