When in Riga, These Travel Apps Can Help!

Whether you’re in Riga for a language course or just travelling around Latvia, there’s now an app for that!

Tourist routes, nearby accommodation, information about landmarks and tourist attractions and cultural events can all be found on a brand new app for smartphones and tablets.

Created by the Latvian Tourism Agency (TAVA), the app offers information in five categories: what to see, accommodation, food and restaurants, tourism information centres and a list of upcoming events. Called Latvia.Travel, the app is available in four languages – Latvian, English, German and Russian.

Tourism information apps are also offered by separate regions in Latvia – the Tukums Tourist Information Centre has created an app called “Visit Tukums”, while Valmiera offers an app called Valmiera, which features up-to-date information about events taking place in the area, information on what to see, accommodation possibilities and other information useful to travellers.

An app that features information on the entire country is called Kulturas Karte and offers information about more than 10,000 cultural landmarks throughout the country!
