The Best Burger in Moscow: Part II
My search for the best burger in Moscow continued at #FARSH (#ФАРШ). #FARSH is part of the Novikov group of restaurants which includes a wide range of different establishments, but there are two branches of the #FARSH chain. One (the one that we visited) is conveniently located for students at Liden and Denz Moscow, just 5 mins walk from the school, near to Belorusskaya station.
The Ambience
#FARSH Belorusskaya is a great place to grab lunch or a casual dinner after class. The seating is in long wooden benches with high chairs. The orders work on a collection system – your receipt has a number which shows on a LCD screen above the bar when it is ready to collect.
The Menu
For a fair test (and because it is my favourite kind!) I also ordered a cheeseburger and fries at #FARSH. Burgers come with pickles, tomatoes and salad inside, but you can add extras such as cheese, bacon and onions for 30-80 rubles each. The burger and chips were generously sized and were served on a large plate, ready to collect from the bar. I went with a fellow British intern from Liden and Denz and we were delighted to discover that #FARSH sold an Irish cider which is very popular back at home! #FARSH also serve craft beers and soft drinks to accompany your burger.
We both really enjoyed the food at #FARSH. I really liked the ambience, but my fellow intern found the music a little too loud. We both spend around 550-600 rubles on our meal including an alcoholic drink, so again great value for money. The proximity of #FARSH Belorusskaya to Liden and Denz makes it a great lunch option for students, but there is another branch centrally located on Nikolskaya Street, which offers food to go as well.
#FARSH, Gruzinskiy Val. Ulitsa 26 bld. 1 and Nikolskaya Ulitsa 12. Opening hours vary. Nearest metro: Belorusskaya or Lubyanka. See website for more details: http://en.novikovgroup.ru/restaurants/farsh/farsh_205.html
