Farewell to Riga

Farewell to Riga
30 October 2023

As we approach the end of October, it is time for me to say goodbye to Riga. After two months full of Russian language, exploration of Riga, meeting new people, and enjoying both the sun and rain, I am off to another adventure. However, I can already say that I will deeply miss Riga and Liden & Denz. So, let me go through my memories and reflect on my time here, which will hopefully convince those who still wonder if Liden & Denz is the right place for them.

As this has been my second time studying Russian with Liden & Denz, I was very excited to visit another school and see whether the teaching system changed or progressed since my last visit. Similar to the first experience, Liden & Denz again did not disappoint. My class was always filled with laughter and such a welcoming atmosphere, for which I am grateful to my teacher, Anna. She created an environment where I never feared making a mistake and became comfortable speaking Russian on a daily basis. The same can be said about the whole school, as everyone is so friendly and joyful that you simply want to get up in the morning and go to school. After a short time, the majority of the students in my group felt like they belonged to the Liden & Denz community, which helped us immensely to settle in a new town. Thanks to this, I met so many new amazing people and made some friends who made my learning journey way more enjoyable. I hope that I will get to meet these people once again and that we stay in touch!

Apart from that, I fell in love with Riga. Although I visited Riga before, I did not appreciate it as much as I do now. Riga is a beautiful town with stunning architecture, parks, and cafes, so I always had something to do. I felt safe and welcomed as the locals, despite their introverted nature, were very friendly. I could spend hours just walking around the town and enjoying the surroundings. So, if you wonder whether Riga is the right place for you, I swear there is always something for everyone. In addition to that, I am so happy I could learn so much about the town through my blog posts. It made me realize how rich Latvian history and culture are, and I loved sharing it with you. Altogether, I cannot explain how much I enjoyed my course in Riga, and I wish I could stay longer.

I hope you join the Liden & Denz in Riga; it is a truly amazing place to be!
