Carla Bruni Performs in Moscow
03 June 2014

Carla Bruni gave her first ever performance in Moscow last night to a packed crowd at the Moscow Music Centre.

Best known as the former First Lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy became a singer at 29 years old, while she was a model. Her first album, “Quelqu’un m’a dit”, was released in 2002 and 800,000 copies were sold in France alone!

Bruni sings of love and romance and sings in both French and English, sometimes in both on the same song, like in “Little French Song”.

After releasing her fourth solo album “Little French Songs”, she embarked on her first big global tour, and arrived in Russia for two performances: one in Moscow and one in St Petersburg tomorrow.

Tickets range from 1.200 to 7.000 roubles and can be purchased at the theatre box offices across St Petersburg.

Carla Bruni met the former French President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2007 and they married in 2008. Bruni didn’t abandon her career as a singer, even after the birth of her daughter Guilia in 2011. She was one of the world’s best paid models until she gave up her modelling career in 1997 to become a singer.

Since that career change she has enjoyed global success, and the two performances in Russia really highlight her international fame.

Her husband, Sarkozy, accompanied her to Moscow and was reported to have had lunch with Vladimir Putin.
