St. Petersburg Open Big Tennis

11 September 2013

On September 15, the city will host a special sport event, the Open Big Tennis (Открой Большой Теннис). For the first time in St. Petersburg, a tennis-court will be installed right at the centre of the city, in St. Isaac’s Square (Исаакиевская Площадь). Everyone will be able to take part in the show and experience the atmosphere of a tennis tournament.

But there is more than just it: celebrations will start with a parade from Anichkov Bridge (Аничков Мост) at 13. Dancers and acrobats in tennis outfits will lead the parade to St. Isaac’s Square, where the proper show will start. First, there will be matches between young tennis players. But the icing on the cake will be the two-on-two match between professional players.

The event is open to everyone, and it serves as an introduction to the 19th International Tennis Tournament St.Petersburg Open that will start on Monday (September 16).
