Impressions of the Autumn Festival of Lights 2016

My impressions about the Autumn Festival of Lights!
As announced, one of the most spectacular festivals of the year took place in Saint Petersburg during this weekend and our expectations were more than excelled. I visited the Autumn Festival of Lights 2016 with two friends of mine on Friday, 5th November and Saturday, 6th at night and we were just thrilled. The combination of the cold and frosty weather, the snowfall and the wonderful show at the Saint Isaac’s square was magical. In my today’s blog, I would like to share my impressions with all of you, because in my latest announcement I was kindly asked to report it afterwards. I hope you had the chance to see it too!
What did you miss at the Autumn Festival of Lights?
The Autumn Festival of Lights was an impressive multimedia performance that took place at Saint Isaac’s square this year. It transformed the beautiful Saint Isaac’s Cathedral and Mariinsky Palace through light projections and multimedia art. The festival brought to life miraculous breathtaking art by newest 3D-mapping and audio-visual technologies. The light show presented a unique performance with unusual modern works of art, leaving a long-lasting impression on the spectators. Aside from the light projections, the Autumn Festival of Lights furthermore, featured amazing musical accompaniment. Visitors had the unique opportunity to take a picture with fabulous view of a whole main square of Saint Petersburg.
I am really glad that I had the time and chance to see this beautiful and magical spectacle with my friends and thousands of other curious visitors!
The festival reminded me a little bit on the “Traditional Autumn Festival of Fountains” with its light show that also already took place in September. Check out the blog about it here to get an impression.
